In India prostitution is not banned; except for soliciting customers in public places which brings prohibition of immoral trafic act into play.

If this is the case why are so many houses that are suspected of being brothels raided all across the countries and in the process arrests are carried out. Though a client is legally not a criminal, if you are caught in a brothel or a house that serves as one will land you in custody.

I should be because women and men who liv in that situation are also citizens, besides the government would have more money.
